EMPOWERED Recovery and Wellness

Because quality of life in breast cancer survivorship should be an expectation, not an afterthought.

About

Does This Sounds Familiar?
Maybe you are in treatment right now. Or maybe it ended months ago. Your arm feels heavy, and you don't want to get lymphedema. You feel a tight, rope-like cord under your arm when you reach overhead, and you have no idea what it is or if it’s something to worry about. Your shoulder won't move like it used to (but is it supposed to?)

No one warned you these things could happen to you.

Without answers, small problems can grow. You stop reaching so high. You aren't quite sure if you should lift heavy things. You stop doing the activities you love. And you start to wonder if this is just how life is now.

It doesn't have to be. Most of these changes are common. Many get better with the right steps at the right time.

Imagine if you could reach for the top shelf without thinking about it.
Imagine if you knew what was normal, what was not, and what to do next. Imagine if you knew how to lower your risk of lymphedema.
Imagine if you felt like yourself again, confident and back in control.
Imagine if you had an expert by your side to help guide you through this journey …

Hi, I'm Dr. Renata Braudy, PhD, PT, MA, MS, OCS, CLT.
I know what it's like to feel sick and not have answers. Before I was diagnosed with Lyme disease, I wondered if it was all in my head. I felt like the only one going through it. I felt like no one understood. I felt alone.

That time changed me. Now I want to be the person I wish I had back then. Someone who listens. Someone who believes you. Someone who helps you make sense of what your body is telling you.

For more than 20 years, I have helped people heal during and after breast cancer treatment. I am a certified lymphedema therapist. I went back to school to earn my PhD because I wanted to be a true expert. That way, I can give you the best teaching, guidance, and care. In two states, I started breast cancer recovery programs and trained other therapists to work with survivors.

My simple path for you:
  1. Validate. What you are feeling is real. I listen, and I believe you.
  2. Educate. Learn about common side effects of treatment that you may be experiencing ... and what to watch for.
  3. Empower. Get the knowledge and clear next steps you need to feel confident and back in control of your journey.

Cancer takes enough. My job is to help you take control back.
Every person after breast cancer deserves clear answers. That is why I made them easy to find, for anyone, anywhere.

Testimonials

Renata Braudy's skill, knowledge, attention to detail, and willingness to meet me where I was in my recovery from radiation therapy damage, a unilateral mastectomy, and nerve and muscle weakness helped me reclaim my life after three rounds of breast cancer. I am good at self-advocacy and I'm willing to go the extra mile for the support needed. I feel like I hit the jackpot when I found my way to Renata. Her deep background awareness of what can happen to the body after breast cancer and its varying challenging treatments, along with her ability to tailor exercises and daily actions I was able to implement, caused my life to transform for the better. Including my athletic life, a big part of who I am. As a result of working with Renata, I have regained my range of motion. I no longer suffer from endless stiffness and my strength slowly and surely has come back. I am motivated to keep up with the program Renata created in collaboration with me and my goals. I highly recommend that anyone who works with breast cancer survivors and survivors themselves, please get to know Renata. Take time to learn from her wealth of insight and understanding of how to move forward after breast cancer. Like me, I believe you will be rewarded.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is this Physical Therapy?
No. These sessions are education and coaching, not physical therapy evaluation or treatment. I do not diagnose conditions, provide hands-on care, or create individualized physical therapy exercise programs. I share general, evidence-based information and practical guidance to help you understand common post-treatment issues (such as lymphedema risk and shoulder/radiation-related effects), what to monitor, and what questions to ask your care team.

If you need medical advice, a diagnosis, treatment, or a personalized rehab or exercise plan, I will recommend that you follow up with an appropriate licensed provider (such as a PT, physician, or other specialist) and/or a qualified fitness professional for individualized programming.
Is this covered by insurance?
No. These sessions are not billed to insurance because they are provided as education, coaching, and consulting, not medical treatment (such as physical therapy) delivered under an insurance-covered plan of care. Insurance typically requires a licensed provider, specific diagnostic and billing codes, and documented medical necessity for treatment services.

You are welcome to use what you learn here to support conversations with your healthcare team. If you need insurance-covered care (for example, physical therapy or medical evaluation), I can help you identify what type of provider to see and what questions to ask.
What happens during a Free Discovery Call?
In 30 minutes, we will:
1.     Talk about where you are now, during or after treatment.
2.     Look at what worries you most.
3.     Map out your next steps so you feel validated, educated, and empowered wherever you are in your journey. Because you don't have to walk it alone - you can walk it with an expert in the field who has dedicated her career to validating, educating, and empowering breast cancer patients and survivors.

You will leave with a clearer picture, whether or not we work together. If it feels like a good fit, I'll tell you about The Empowered Recovery Roadmap, a program where we meet 2x/month x 50'. Just you and me. Confidential discussion, real answers.

And the Discovery Call? There is no pressure. You decide if what I offer is right for you.
