Growing up in a home marked by poverty and abuse, I faced daunting challenges that could have easily derailed my path. The trauma I endured instilled in me a belief that obedience would shield me from harm. For too long, I clung to this falsehood, but deep down, I knew my circumstances would not define my destiny. With unwavering determination, I earned my GED and, at just 18 years old, bravely enlisted in the military

The Navy provided the structure I needed to thrive, complementing the discipline instilled by my religious upbringing. As a woman in a male-dominated environment, I quickly learned that I had to surpass expectations—scoring higher and running faster than my peers. This resilience carried me through law school, where relentless effort and dedication led me to graduate with honors.

In the corporate world, I initially adhered to the mantra of obedience: “do what you’re told, and nothing bad will happen.” This mindset propelled my rise in the legal departments of several Fortune 500 companies, where I made a significant impact. However, my unyielding pursuit of excellence drove me to establish Calcese & Associates and Transformation Title and Escrow. With a visionary approach to both law and title, I lead my team with an unwavering commitment to excellence, ultimately achieving millionaire status

Despite growing up with nothing, I emphasize to my children the importance of giving back, believing it to be far more valuable than monetary success. This commitment to philanthropy led me to start Butterfly Cottages, a non-profit organization providing transitional services, including mental health and medical care, to children entering foster care. I also serve dutifully with the Aerial Recovery group, dedicated to ending human trafficking, healing our military heroes, and
offering disaster relief worldwide.

These experiences have profoundly shaped my perspective and inspired my writing. My first book is not a typical “rags to riches” story; rather, it is a guidebook for women who dream big and envision a life beyond their circumstances. Through my writing, I aim to empower others to embrace their potential and strive for greater things.
