Welcome, and thank you for being here. I'm Pam Noda, your anchor of support in attaining the transformation that you seek.

As the founder of Hearts at Home Abroad, I help expatriates to find their footing and their fulfillment in foreign lands. When you thrive in a lifestyle you enjoy with people you love, you can live abroad and still feel at home.

As the founder of True Voice Training, I help speakers, coaches, and world workers shine as confident communicators. When you deliver your message with authentic presence, you really do make a difference.

A bit more about me

I found coaching as a client first.

I thought I wanted to reinvigorate my career as an editor, but the more I received coaching, the more I felt a growing desire to become a coach myself. Here was safety in conversation, acceptance, and respect for my freedom of choice.

Through coaching, I tapped into such courage and joy for my life as a whole and as an expat in particular that I trained to become a coach of other expats.

Wanting to be a coach and business owner who inspired change propelled me to face my debilitating fear of speaking in public.

Discovering Relational Presence as taught at Speaking Circles® freed my self-expression in new ways. Here was acceptance and safety—in front of people!

Relational Presence gave me such a sense of confidence and freedom that I trained to teach others this transformative skill.

Since then, for more than 20 years now, I have provided coaching and Relational Presence training for expats, speakers, coaches, and world workers. All to help them access the authentic self-expression they seek to realize their best lives and to inspire the impact they want in the world.

I'm a wordsmith, a devotee of long talks over cups of tea, and a lover of horses. A transplanted American, I live in Japan, where my sense of adventure led me to put down roots many decades ago.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is a Speaking Circle?
Speaking Circles are small groups of 6~10 people who gather to discover or deepen their sense of ease, confidence, and pleasure when speaking in front of groups.

At a Speaking Circle, participants listen from the heart and focus on the person in front, not on the content of what someone might be saying. This kind of non-judgmental listening creates a space where it is safe to be yourself.

As your natural self is gradually liberated from the yoke of performance anxiety, you can begin to move away from feeling self-conscious about being the center of attention and start taking pleasure in connecting with your audience.

This is where the Relational Presence magic begins!

The more at ease you become, the more your True Voice expresses itself. And voilá—your natural presence emerges to captivate, inspire, and impress your audience.
What happens at a Speaking Circle?
A Speaking Circle is like a gym for your Relational Presence muscle. Repetition builds strength. So you will have a set number of turns in front of the room alternated with time spent listening to others. Because connection with one person at a time in the audience is prioritized over content, you will focus on ”being with” your audience rather than on delivering prepared content.
