Laura Patterson

Helping you figure out what you actually want, and how to get there.

About

It’s 2 a.m. You’re exhausted, but your mind won’t stop running through everything you’re carrying.

Maybe you’re leaving a career that used to fit, starting something new, rethinking a relationship, or figuring out who you are now that the house is quieter. Maybe you’re juggling kids and aging parents at the same time, and you’re tired of doing it all by yourself.

Whatever it is for you right now, you just know…it’s a lot.
You’re in the right place.

What changes when you get support
Most women come to me feeling stuck between where they are and where they want to be. Over our time together, things start to move. You stop rehearsing the conversation in the shower and actually have it. You tell your sister you need help with Mom’s appointments, and the world doesn’t end. You figure out whether you want the new job or just want out of the old one. You get through a whole dinner without mentally running tomorrow’s to-do list. And somewhere in there, you start laughing more.

And when nothing changes?
The “someday” keeps sliding further out. You keep saying “after the holidays,” then “once things settle down,” and things never settle down. You get short with the people you love most and feel guilty about it later. Another year goes by spent holding everything together for everyone except yourself.
You can absolutely keep going that way. You’ve proven you’re strong enough. But you don’t have to.

Hi, I’m Laura
I know that place deeply. I was a nurse for twelve years, and my favorite part was supporting patients and their families through some of the hardest days of their lives. But the system wasn’t built for caring for the whole person, and I eventually had to admit it wasn’t the right fit for me anymore.
So I left, not totally sure what was next. That turned into a microgreens farm, then teaching other people to grow, and eventually coaching.
Right now I’m raising three kids while caring for my dad, who has Alzheimer’s and lives with us. So I really do get the juggling part.

How I work
We work together one-on-one, and everything is tailored to your specific situation. Our time is built around your life and where you’re headed. Whether you’re thinking about a big pivot or a small change (that may feel giant), I’m not going to push you to hurry up and reinvent yourself in a week. We’ll sort through what’s feeling heavy, get clear on your goals, and take realistic steps toward them, one at a time.

My goal is always big shifts that feel like less work, since I know the last thing you need is more boxes to tick each day.
A big part of that is helping you notice the thoughts that keep you stuck and reframe them in a way that actually moves you forward.
I call this the Ember & Ash approach, because real change usually needs both:
  • Ash: honoring what was. We make room for the burnout, grief, and old roles before rushing ahead.
  • Ember: what’s still alive. That curiosity and quiet spark that knows something better is possible.
  • The Bridge: the work itself. Steady, practical support to get from where you are to where you want to be.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is coaching the same as therapy?
Nope. I’m not a therapist, and coaching isn’t a replacement for therapy. Therapy often focuses on healing the past. Coaching focuses on where you are now and where you want to go next. Plenty of my clients see a therapist too, and the two can work really well together. If something comes up that’s better suited to a therapist, I’ll tell you honestly.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
If you keep circling the same decision, feel stuck between who you’ve been and who you’re becoming, or you’re just tired of figuring it all out alone, it’s worth a conversation. That’s what the Free 30-Minute Chat is for. We’ll talk it through, and if it’s not a fit, I’ll tell you.
What happens in our first session?
We’ll talk about what’s going on in your life right now, what’s feeling heavy, and what you’d love to be different. You don’t need to show up with it all figured out. Most people don’t, and that’s kind of the point.
How do sessions work?
All sessions are 45 minutes on Zoom, so you can join from your kitchen table, your car, or wherever you can grab some quiet. After each session, I’ll send you notes with key takeaways and next steps, so you don’t have to remember everything.
What if life gets busy and I need to take a break?
That’s okay. Your sessions never expire, so if a parent gets sick, the kids have a crazy month, or you just need some breathing room, you can pause and pick back up when you’re ready. You won’t lose anything.
Do you offer a payment plan?
Yes! The Bridge is $1,690 paid in full, or six monthly payments of $300.
What if I need to cancel or reschedule?
Life happens, and I get it. You can reschedule anytime through your Paperbell client portal. I just ask for at least 24 hours’ notice when you can, so I can offer that time to someone else.
