Jen Winley

Values-led coaching for creatives, leaders, and educators.

About

I'm a certified coach, a professional conductor, and a former educator. I partner primarily with creatives, leaders, and educators to build a values-led life that works for them.
I understand high performance, high pressure roles, leading diverse groups of people, building a career based on my values, and dealing with difficult behaviours. As a creative and a highly sensitive person (HSP), I have a deep understanding of the importance of building a life that feels sustainable and authentic.

I have a Level 1 certification with Thought Coach and am working towards my ACC accreditation. I also have certification in ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) for a coaching context and am a certified Mindful Schools facilitator.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is coaching?
The International Coaching Federation (ICF) defines coaching as "partnering with clients in a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires them to maximize their personal and professional potential."
It's not therapy, mentoring, or consulting, but a way to work together to find the answers, clarity, and confidence you need. It is a safe space to explore change for people who are in a generally stable mental health space. It can work in tandem with a mental health specialist if you are ready for that and we can offer referrals if we feel that is most beneficial to you. Coaching is primarily present and future-focused with some acknowledgement of old patterns and experiences but there is no delving into childhood trauma or diagnosis.
Is coaching regulated?
No, coaching is not currently regulated but as a member of the ICF, I am trained to their competencies and abide by their Code of Ethics.
What if I can't find a day or time that suits me?
Just contact me at [email protected] with your preferred options and I'll see what I can do for you.
What if I know you? Can you still coach me?
Yes. There are no limitations to who we can coach. As long as you feel comfortable sharing Wwith me, I can coach you.
What is ACT and how is it used in a coaching context?
Dr. Russ Harris defines Acceptance and Commitment Therapy/Training (ACT) in coaching as a psychological model focused on building psychological flexibility—the ability to be in the present moment with full awareness and openness to experience, and to take action guided by one's core values.

ACT is heavily researched and evidence based and is used successfully in many varying contexts ranging from severe mental health issues and refugee camps to sports coaching, performance coaching, and vertical growth training.
Is coaching tax deductible?
It can be. If you are seeking coaching for work-related topics, it may be eligible as a professional development tax deduction. Chat to your accountant to find out more.
