Jen Kreiner, ACC, CALC, PP
Certified ADHD & Executive Function Life Coach
Trauma-Informed Psychosomatic Practitioner

I am an advocate for all neurodivergent individuals. Regardless of neurotype, every human needs multi-modal support. Coaching is an effective, evidence-based modality that supported me when I was diagnosed with ADHD late-in-life. I offer 1:1 and group coaching support, as well as, facilitate educational workshops to bring clarity around ADHD as a medical diagnosis, the spectrum of impacts, and how to implement management strategies that are customized to the individual experience.

Our work looks at the whole person and how current circumstances and past experiences play a role in how ADHD symptoms and executive function needs present. You know what needs to change. I am a partner in identifying the steps on your path to move with you in that direction.

I work with ADHDers to live intentionally with acceptance of how ADHD impacts daily life…acknowledge challenges, recognize strengths, and live life according to what is important to them. As a parent and professional with ADHD, I relate to the experience of my clients and help them to embrace balance by recognizing capacity and honoring essential focus. The process of growth is unique to every individual based on their needs, wants, and life circumstances.

I pivoted from a 25-year career in non-profit leadership, supporting communities and small businesses to pursue education as an ICF Certified ADHD Life Coach and Trauma-Informed Psychosomatic Practitioner. As a coach, I meet others where they are in service to support their journey of where they want to be.

Testimonials

Jen is a kind, compassionate, knowledgeable counselor who is sensitive to one's needs and able to pivot her care with a variety of techniques in her toolbox; whether they be centering with somatic exercises or ADHD guidance or general sage counseling, she is a gem.

- Joan E.

Working with Jen for somatic therapy was so valuable and eye opening for me. She was patient, present, and empathetic, guiding me through something that was totally new to me and taught me a new way of caring for myself and how to support my nervous system. I highly recommend working with her!

- Kelsey M.

Before I found Jen and Stone’s Throw Coaching, I had given up almost all hope of finding something, anything, that could help me with the mental and behavioral patterns I was so desperate to change. After just a few sessions with Jen, I felt that I had made more progress in managing my ADHD than the last 5 years of talk therapy combined. Jen knew exactly how to address the challenges I was facing, and approached every aspect with an abundance of care and compassion. 7 months after our first session, I am feeling more in control of my life than ever before.

- Lexi B.

I cannot say too many positive things about Jen and her expertise. She knows all the cognitive “ruts” that ADHDers tend to travel repeatedly, often because of a lifetime of feeling “different”. She has deep knowledge of tools great and small that have helped me reframe problems and tackle huge tasks. I’ve also been able to change patterns of unproductive thinking, especially my tendency to frame things I do negatively, and acknowledge the “wins” in my thoughts and actions. Work with her - you won’t regret it.

- Kristin F.

Jen offers tailored ADHD coaching that's both empathetic and effective. She has a fresh view and understanding of ADHD, allowing her to provide personalized strategies and ongoing support. I’ve grown in my ability to foster confidence compassion. I highly recommend working with Jen to anyone seeking to thrive with their ADHD. I plan on continuing to work with Jen to help me become my best self, for me, and others.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is an ADHD Coach?
An ADHD Life Coach helps individuals understand themselves and their ADHD brain, in order to evoke new awareness, insights, and growth to move toward a self-defined, future vision. Coaching is an effective, evidence-based support that offers education, evaluation and skill building for each individual's unique needs.

Clients experience new perspectives and design specific actions to close the gap between where they are and where they want to be. An ADHD Life Coach empowers clients to move their lives forward and find fulfillment, success, well-being, balance, and satisfaction.

As a partner, coaches support individuals to overcome barriers and navigate next steps toward living the life they want!
What is a Somatic Practitioner?
Somatic practices connect to how the body’s wisdom and nervous system inform emotional and psychological well-being. As a trauma-informed somatic practitioner, certified by the Integrative Psychology Institute, coaching partnerships for ADHD use an integrative approach applying ADHD and psychoeducation, mindset management and foundationally in emotional regulation through somatic modalities.

Integrative Somatic Coaching partnerships are also available to anyone experiencing pro-longed stress, anxiety, disconnection, chronic exhaustion or pain.
What is the experience like in a session?
I offer online coaching sessions to accommodate individual clients' needs. The only requirements are a computer with a video camera and internet access. ZOOM is the platform where sessions are held, which is a downloaded application prior to your first session. If you are new to ZOOM, support will be provided to help you feel comfortable with a virtual connection. Flexibility and accessibility are important for everyone!

Each weekly coaching session is 45 minutes. The sessions are booked independently by the client according to their availability. A standing day/time can be selected or sessions can be held on varied days/times according to what works week to week. Offering flexibility is important to me! Life happens.

A coaching session opens with an opportunity to share updates, weekly wins, and challenges that the client is struggling with currently. Whatever is top of mind can be a topic to be coached on that session. Typically, it ties in to the outcomes identified by the client at the outset of the partnership, but whatever is present is what the session reflects.

In the coaching process, the client gains clarity on patterns, pain points, connections and what they want and need to move forward. A coach shares education, reflects what is shared and makes observations...they do not give advice. The process creates a space for the client to increase self-awareness and reflect on AHA moments that make sense for them. Together small, actionable steps are defined, anticipated obstacles revealed and supports needed identified. Over time the motivations, values, strengths and goals are clear. What is wanted and needed understood. The client builds new skills and has tools to utilize based on the work that has been done. It is hard work and the outcome is transformational.

Are coaching services covered by insurance?
Insurance plans typically do not cover coaching. Out-of-pocket payment may be prohibitive for some people. To defray the cost of coaching services, consider working with the human resources department at your workplace. Employers may cover the expense of coaching services for employees that have challenges at work related to their ADHD when their diagnosis has been disclosed. Under federal ADA Accommodations, your employer is obligated to offer Reasonable Accommodations. Executive Function or Job Coaching may be an eligible accommodation request. Check out a downloadable proposal to support your request HERE.

Individuals may also be eligible to pay through their flexible spending accounts (FSAs) offered by their employers. FSAs are plans let you set aside pre-tax dollars for healthcare expenses not covered by your insurance (glasses, acupuncture, etc.) You can talk with your employer about setting up an account.

Payment plans are available for all coaching packages.
