Learn to create a life where grief can co-exist with peace, purpose and joy.
About
I'm a certified grief coach and a bereaved mother who understands how grief changes you and what it means to restore a meaningful life after loss. You don't just experience loss. You also lose the future you imagined, the life you thought you would live and the experiences you thought you would have. You lose a part of yourself and wonder if you’ll ever be the same again.
I gave birth to a stillborn son 13 years ago and found myself deep in the trenches of grief. It was a lonely place, and I was now a member of a club I never requested to join. It was tough and I had to learn to navigate this wilderness. I learned that grief was a process of learning and learning takes a long time. But more importantly, I learned that the process was an active one and time alone passing wasn't the answer.
Grieving is a unique type of learning. Dr. Mary Frances O' Connor who authored the books "The Grieving Brain" and “The Grieving Body,” described it as "this type of learning is like traveling to an alien planet and learning that the air cannot be breathed, and therefore you need to remember to wear oxygen all the time. Or that the day has thirty-two hours, even though your body continues operating as though it has twenty-four."
It's possible to restore a meaningful life after pregnancy loss. You can build a bridge to a new normal where you can experience more connection, confidence and joy. Grief isn't only about loss. It's also about transformation. Even though life may look radically different that the one you imagined, you can still have a fulfilling and satisfying life.
