Gina Cayne

Certified Grief Educator & Grief Coach

About

Grief has shaped my life, but it has never defined its limits. After losing my husband, Jason (“Jake”) Cayne, on September 11, 2001, I raised our three children while learning firsthand how love, purpose, and hope can continue alongside profound loss.

I later founded the Jason David Cayne Foundation, to support families with children who had experienced a tragic death. Today, drawing upon both my professional grief training and personal experience, I offer compassionate grief education and coaching to individuals and families navigating loss.

My approach is warm, supportive, and practical. I believe grief is not something we simply "get over," nor does moving forward mean leaving someone behind. Together, we can create space for your grief while helping you reconnect with meaning, hope, and the life that continues around it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Grief Coaching?
Grief coaching is a supportive, forward-focused process that helps you navigate life alongside your loss. Together, we create a safe and compassionate space to explore where you are today, understand your grief, and find ways to move forward while continuing to honor the person you love and the life you shared.
How do I know grief coaching is right for me?
There is no right or wrong way to grieve, and you don't have to navigate it alone. If you're feeling overwhelmed, stuck, or simply looking for support as you adjust to life after loss, grief coaching may be helpful. Our complimentary discovery session gives us a chance to talk about what you are going through, what you need, and whether working together feels right for you.
Are sessions held in person or online?
All grief coaching sessions are held virtually through Zoom, allowing you to receive compassionate, personalized support from the comfort and privacy of your own home, wherever you are.
What happens in the complimentary discovery session?
This complimentary 45-minute session is an opportunity for us to connect. We'll talk about where you are in your grief, what kind of support you're looking for, and how coaching may help. There is no pressure or obligation to continue. It's simply a chance to see if working together feels right for you.

How much does grief coaching cost?
My one-on-one grief coaching program includes eight private, 60-minute Zoom sessions for $1,500. A two-payment option of $775 per payment is available. Before making a commitment, I invite you to begin with a complimentary 45-minute discovery session so we can connect, talk about what you are looking for, and see if working together feels right for you.

What is the difference between grief coaching and therapy?
Grief coaching provides compassionate, forward-focused support as you navigate life after loss. Together, we can explore your grief, identify what you need, and find meaningful ways to move forward while continuing to honor your loved one. Therapy is provided by licensed mental health professionals who can diagnose and treat mental health conditions. Grief coaching does not diagnose or treat mental health conditions and is not a substitute for therapy, but it can be a valuable source of additional support.
