About

Hi, I’m Dawn 👋🏾

I’m a trained and licensed psychotherapist who now offers coaching. This isn’t therapy, but my clinical background shapes how I work: I notice patterns quickly, I ask good questions, and I care about changes that hold up in real life.

I’m also a mom, a dog person, a theater/creativity nerd, and someone who loves a good philosophical conversation. I sing karaoke when the spirit moves and have been known to dance in Trader Joe’s. I’m LGBTQIA+ affirming, body-positive, and I aim to make this a place where you don’t have to pretend.

Masking is exhausting. Code-switching is exhausting. Being on guard all the time is exhausting. We don't do that around here.

People usually come to me for some mix of:
  • Overthinking and self-doubt
  • Perfectionism and burnout
  • People-pleasing, boundaries, and relationship stress
  • Big transitions (work, relationships, identity, “what am I doing with my life?”)

In our sessions we focus mainly on your thinking patterns using practical tools (thought work, parts work, and NLP-style exercises). I also have training in energy healing modalities, and when it’s useful (and wanted), we can bring in that layer too.

My style is grounded, collaborative, and sometimes funny. We keep it honest, keep it moving, and make room for your actual life.

Frequently Asked Questions

How is this different from therapy?
Therapy and coaching can both be helpful—they just have different goals. Therapy is healthcare and focuses on mental health treatment. Coaching is focused on your current life, patterns, and the changes you want to make going forward. I’m trained as a psychotherapist, but in this space I’m working as a coach (not providing therapy). If therapy is what you’re looking for, I’m happy to share referrals.
What’s your coaching style?
My style is practical and down-to-earth, with room for humor. We’ll talk honestly about what’s going on, use tools to shift the pattern, and leave each session with something clear to try. I pull from my psychotherapy training, thought work, NLP-style tools, and creativity—so growth doesn’t feel like a grind.
Do you only work with perfectionists and high achievers?
No. A lot of people who find me are high-achieving or hard on themselves, but you don’t need to fit a label. If you’re stuck in overthinking, self-doubt, burnout, or messy boundaries—and you’re ready to work on it—we’ll probably be a fit.

What kinds of things can coaching help with?
Coaching with me can help with things like:
  • getting out of your head (overthinking, second-guessing, spiraling)
  • perfectionism and self-doubt
  • boundaries and hard conversations
  • burnout, stress, and feeling constantly “on”
  • big decisions and life transitions (work, relationships, identity)
  • follow-through and building steadier habits
  • relationships—especially patterns you keep repeating

What happens in a session?
Sessions are collaborative and practical. We’ll talk through what’s happening, figure out what’s really driving it, use tools to shift it, and end with clear next steps so you can move forward. We’ll also pay attention to stress and reactivity so you’re not trying to think your way out of a flooded system.
What if I don’t know what I need?
That’s okay—you don’t need a perfect plan. But you do need something you want to be different. It can be as simple as “I want less overwhelm,” “I want to stop spiraling,” or “I want to make a decision and stick with it.” We’ll get clear together and turn that into a workable goal.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes! I believe coaching should be accessible, so I offer flexible payment options. If you’re interested in a package but need a plan that works for you, let’s talk.
What if I just want to try one session?
Absolutely. You can try one session. If you like it, you can book again whenever you want—weekly, monthly, or just when you need support.
