Caroline Covert LMSW

Licensed Social Worker + Certified Life Coach for Teen Girls and Young Women

About

Support for teens. Guidance for parents. Real change, rooted in connection.

I’m a Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Certified Teen Wisdom® Life Coach and Columbia University graduate with years of experience as a therapist. I know how to tune into what’s really going on and how to hold space for the big feelings that often show up in the teen years.

My coaching is forward-focused, blending therapeutic insight with practical tools that help teens move ahead with clarity, compassion and confidence. I’m also a mom of two Ivy League Division I college athletes, so I understand the pressure, the potential and the parenting moments that come with both.

This mix of lived experience and professional training allows me to support teens in a way that’s real, grounded and action-oriented. I offer the tools, encouragement and space every teen needs to stretch, struggle and ultimately grow into their strongest self!

Real talk. Real tools. Real growth.

Testimonials

I came to Caroline a few months ago, feeling lost in the job application process. She guided and supported me every step of the way. Not only did she provide me with valuable advice and tools to succeed, but she also kept me accountable, which made a huge difference. Thanks to her guidance, I was able to secure a job and I truly believe I wouldn’t be where I am today without her support.

- JM, young adult client

We had the pleasure of working with Caroline for our teenage daughter. Our daughter was struggling with self confidence and was suffering from anxiety in and out of school. She felt very comfortable with Caroline right from the very first session and was able to connect and talk very openly with her. My daughter felt Caroline truly listened and gave her some really good strategies to help her through her anxieties. I really enjoyed our check-ins with Caroline as she filled us in on the progress they were making and even helped us with how we could support our daughter at home. Caroline’s dedication to our daughter went above and beyond. I would highly recommend Caroline if you are looking for a compassionate and very skilled teen life coach and one who will be fully invested with getting your child to a good place.

- PS, mom

Caroline is an amazing life coach and stem of support. She’s extremely easy to talk to and really gets what you’re going through. She’s super encouraging and helps you figure out how to go after your goals without feeling overwhelmed. She’s very uplifting and I always leave feeling positive after talking to her.

Frequently Asked Questions

What exactly is teen life coaching?
Coaching gives your teen a calm, supportive space to talk honestly, learn practical tools and gain confidence in who they are becoming. It’s not about fixing them, it's about giving them skills they can actually use in real life: managing stress, navigating friendships, staying organized and feeling more grounded.
How is coaching different from therapy?
Therapy often explores the past. Coaching focuses on “What’s next?” Because I’m both an LMSW (former therapist) and a Certified Teen Wisdom® Life Coach, I’m able to bring a therapeutic-level understanding while keeping our work forward-focused, skill based and encouraging. Teens love that it feels lighter and more practical.
What kinds of teens do you work with?
Most of my clients are teen girls or young adult women who are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, anxious or unsure of themselves. Parents often come to me when they feel stuck when communication feels hard at home or their daughter seems lost in the pressures of school, friends or expectations.M
My daughter has ADHD. Can coaching help?
Absolutely! So many of the girls I work with ADHD, whether diagnosed or suspected. We work on things like:
  • time management and routines
  • getting started on work (the hardest part!)
  • breaking big tasks into manageable steps
  • strategies for studying and staying focused
  • tools for emotional regulation when everything feels “too much”

Coaching can be a game-changer because it gives teen structure and support wrapped together.
My teen is an athlete. Do you help with sports-related anxiety?
Yes, this comes up all the time. We talk about performance anxiety, bouncing back from mistakes, managing pressure, keeping confidence steady and navigating team dynamics. Athletes often love hanging someone neutral to process with after a tough game or practice.
What does a typical session look like?
Each session is a mix of conversation, practical tools and gentle accountability. Some days we focus on stress. Other days it’s time management, friendships, motivation or a big test coming up. Your teen sets the pace and I meet them exactly where they are.
Will I be included as a parent?
Yes. Always. Every coaching package includes a parent review session where I share themes, progress and ways to support your daughter at home, all while honoring her privacy. Parents often tell me this session alone is incredibly grounding and helpful.
What if my teen isn’t excited about coaching?
Totally normal. Teens rarely arrive saying, “I can’t wait for coaching!” All they need to do is show up. I build connection gently, no pressure, no lectures. Once they realize coaching feels supportive (and not like another adult telling them what to do), most teens realize into it.
What packages do you offer?
Currently I offer:

  • The Discovery Package ($500): As the starting point for all new families, this package begins with a parent intake, moves into four coaching sessions with your daughter and concludes with a parent review to share progress and next-step recommendations.

  • New Pathways ($500): Available after completing the Discovery Package, it offers five additional coaching sessions plus a parent review. It provides steady, ongoing support as your teen builds confidence, skills and momentum.

  • The Waypoint Package ($1000): This continuation package provides ten coaching sessions for your teen and concludes with a parent review session. Offered after the Discovery Package, it’s ideal for parents who want to deepen the work and build lasting change.

Each package has a built-in parent touchpoint because supporting teens is a team effort!
