Helping people reclaim their lives from chronic insomnia

About

For years, I believed recovering from insomnia meant finally sleeping well.

Everything revolved around sleep. I planned my days around it. I avoided things I thought might make it worse. I kept searching for the next thing that might finally fix it.

Looking back, recovery wasn't really about sleep.
It was about getting my life back.

Chronic insomnia has a way of shrinking your world. You stop doing things because you're worried they'll affect your sleep. Before long, insomnia starts making your decisions for you.

The biggest shift in my own recovery wasn't waking up after a perfect night's sleep. It was realizing I could start living again before my sleep was perfect. As I stopped organizing my life around insomnia, sleep gradually stopped controlling it.

That experience changed how I think about recovery and ultimately why I became an insomnia coach.

I'm now a Certified Sleep Coach through The Sleep Coach School, where I trained specifically in helping people recover from chronic insomnia.

I created the kind of coaching I wish I'd had when I was stuck chasing better sleep. A place where the goal isn't to help you build the perfect nighttime routine or find the next sleep hack, but to help you break free from the cycle that's keeping insomnia alive.

I don't believe recovery starts with perfect sleep.

I believe it starts when you stop letting chronic insomnia dictate your life.

That's what I help people do.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is insomnia recovery coaching?
Insomnia recovery coaching helps you understand the patterns that can keep chronic insomnia going and change the way you respond to sleep and wakefulness. Rather than focusing on trying harder to make sleep happen, we'll work on reducing the fear, pressure, monitoring, and effort that can turn sleep into an ongoing struggle.
How is this different from sleep hygiene?
Sleep hygiene focuses on habits and environmental factors like caffeine, screen use, bedroom temperature, and bedtime routines. Those things can be useful, but many people with chronic insomnia already have excellent sleep habits and still can't sleep.

My approach focuses instead on what's keeping the struggle with sleep alive, including sleep anxiety, hypervigilance, perceived threat, and the effort to control sleep.
Can insomnia actually get better after months or years?
Yes. Experiencing insomnia for a long time doesn't mean you're permanently stuck with it. Recovery is possible even after a prolonged struggle.

The goal isn't to achieve perfect sleep every night. It's to reach a point where wakefulness no longer feels threatening, sleep requires less effort and attention, and insomnia stops controlling your life.
What if I've already tried everything?
That's extremely common among the people who seek insomnia coaching. You may have already tried supplements, medications, sleep trackers, meditation, strict routines, sleep hygiene, or countless other strategies.

Sometimes the ongoing search for the thing that will finally fix sleep becomes part of the struggle itself. My approach is less about adding another sleep trick and more about helping you understand and step out of that cycle.
Do you offer a free way to get started?
Yes. I created a free four-week Insomnia Recovery Starter Course that teaches the foundational ideas behind my approach. You'll receive four self-guided video lessons, with a new lesson available each week.

There's no obligation to purchase coaching afterward. It's designed to be genuinely useful on its own and give you a place to start.
Is insomnia recovery coaching a replacement for medical care?
No. Coaching is educational and supportive and isn't a substitute for medical diagnosis or treatment. If you have symptoms that could indicate an underlying medical or psychiatric condition, or have concerns about medications or other treatments, those are appropriate things to discuss with a qualified healthcare professional.
