Angela Lindley

Clarity for what comes next.

About

“What’s next?” can be a surprisingly difficult question—especially when you’ve built a successful life, but what once felt right no longer fits.
I’m Angela Lindley, an ICF Professional Certified Coach (PCC), and I help accomplished women find clarity and direction during periods of personal and professional transition, particularly in midlife. My approach is warm, thoughtful and practical. I create space for you to step away from competing expectations, reconnect with what matters now and turn new insights into meaningful action.
Alongside my coaching practice, I work in communications at UC Davis. Across both roles, the common thread is helping people find clarity within complexity, articulate what they want and move forward with greater confidence.
You don’t need to have your next chapter figured out. That’s what coaching is for.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are your professional qualifications as a coach, and why does that matter?
I completed an intensive coach training certificate at UC Davis in 2017, and have since amassed over 80 hours of continuing coaching education, including emotional wellness coach training. Since completing my training, I have coached over 250 clients.

I hold a Professional Certified Coach credential from the International Coaching Federation (ICF), which is the leading global organization dedicated to advancing the coaching profession by setting high standards, providing independent certification, and building a worldwide network of trained professionals.

What does this mean for you, my client? When you partner with me, you are choosing to work with a coach who is committed to the highest levels of quality and ethics. And speaking of ethics, as an ICF member and credential-holder, I adhere to a strict Code of Ethics. This provides a framework for professional boundaries, confidentiality, and integrity, ensuring your coaching relationship with me is safe, respectful, and focused entirely on your best interests.
What is coaching, exactly?
Life coaching is a thought-provoking and creative process that inspires you to maximize your personal and professional potential. Unlike consulting or therapy, coaching focuses on the present and the future. In your sessions, I will ask questions that help you clarify your goals, identify your limiting beliefs, and develop strategies to move you from where you are now to where you want to be.

Here are a few scenarios that show the transformational power of coaching.

Career Transition or Change: "I know I need a change, but I don't know what that looks like for me."

A client is feeling stuck in their current role, burned out, or unsure of their next professional step:

In this scenario, coaching can provide structure and clarity. We might explore your core values, your hidden strengths, and ideal environment to define a purposeful path. We might also look at what is holding you back from taking action. We might develop an action plan for moving forward. If you need it, a coach can provide accountability as you execute the transition.

Procrastination or Time Management Issues: "I know what to do, but I can't seem to make myself start."

A client might constantly put off important tasks, feel overwhelmed by a long to-do list, or struggle to maintain focus:

Coaching addresses the underlying mindset barriers such as perfectionism or fear of failure that cause procrastination. We might develop customized executive function strategies (e.g., scheduling, or task breakdown) and help you practice self-compassion to build consistent, sustainable habits.

Improving Work/Life Balance: "My work life has completely taken over my personal life."
A client could be feeling guilty when not working, feel compelled to overwork, struggle to set boundaries, or be experiencing high stress levels and burnout.

Coaching helps the client define clear boundaries and practice saying "no" strategically. We clarify the your definition of "balance" and create systems to protect your personal time, leading to reduced stress and greater energy.

Lack of direction or purpose: "Is this all there is? What am I supposed to be doing next?"
A client might feel generally successful but have an overall lack of fulfillment or meaning. This could be someone who has achieved traditional "success," but still feels hollow.

Coaching helps the client find their way through powerful questioning and deep exploration to uncover core values and vision. You'll be able to articulate your life purpose and design meaningful goals that align with that vision, reigniting your motivation and fulfillment.

Overcoming Self-doubt and Boosting Confidence: "Every time I want to try something new, a voice tells me I can't handle it."

A client may have great ideas but hesitate to speak up, constantly criticizing themself or struggling with imposter syndrome when taking on new challenges.

Coaching provides a safe, judgment-free space to challenge limiting beliefs. A coach helps identify your inner critic and reframe negative self-talk, building an internal foundation of self-trust and self-advocacy so you can take courageous action.

Navigating Life Transitions: "I feel completely lost and don't know who I am without this identity."
A client might be dealing with a significant shift like a recent job loss, a divorce, becoming an empty-nester, menopause, or relocating.

Coaching provides a supportive anchor during periods of instability. A coach will focus on rebuilding identity, establishing new routines, and setting forward-looking goals to turn the uncertainty of a transition into an opportunity for conscious creation.

Do you offer a free consultation?
Yes, absolutely! I offer a complimentary, no-obligation, 30-minute discovery call. This is your opportunity to discuss what you want to achieve, get a sense of me as a coach, and ask me any questions. It's a chance for both of us to determine if we are a good fit to work together.
Book a discovery call on my website or reach out to me at [email protected].
How much does coaching cost?
Coaching is an investment in your future self. I offer customized pacakges based on the level of support you need. My prices start at $175 per one-hour session. This rate is discounted for larger packages. Clients may book single, as needed sessions after completing a package. While you can find specific pricing details on this site, all packages typically include:

Scheduled one-hour 1:1 Zoom sessions
Between-session support
Tools and resources

What is the difference between coaching and therapy?
While therapy often focuses on healing past wounds and managing mental health conditions, coaching is future-focused and action-oriented. We start with where you are now and build a bridge to where you want to be. My role is to help you clear current obstacles and optimize your performance and fulfillment. I do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions, as this is outside my expertise and scope of services. If needed, I may recommend that you pursue therapy for treatment of mental health conditions or past trauma.
Is everything we discuss confidential?
Absolutely. Confidentiality is the foundation of the coaching relationship. Everything you share will be kept completely confidential, allowing you to speak freely, openly, and honestly without fear of judgment. The only exceptions are those required by law.
Note that I conduct sessions using Zoom, and confidentiality is subject to the limitations of the platform. I do not record sessions; however, Zoom is not HIPAA compliant, so I cannot guarantee the confidentiality of sensitive health data.
How long does a typical coaching engagement last?
Meaningful change takes time. While some clients find clarity in just a few sessions, most commit to a 3-month or 6-month partnership to ensure new habits and mindsets are fully integrated.
What happens during a typical coaching session?
Each session is driven by your agenda. Typically we’ll dive into a specific goal or challenge you’re facing, I will ask powerful, probing questions to help you uncover your blind spots, and we will conclude with a clear, actionable commitment for you to focus on before our next meeting.
Do I need to do "homework" between sessions?
That's up to you! Coaching is most effective when the work continues outside our calls, so I may suggest reflections, specific actions, or mindset exercises. However, these are always designed to integrate into your life, not to add more "busy work" to your plate. You are also welcome to commit to taking certain actions before our next session, and I will act as an accountability partner by checking in with you as needed.
How do we meet?
I typically work with clients via Zoom or phone. This allows for maximum flexibility and ensures we can connect regardless of where you are located.
How do I know if coaching is right for me?
Coaching is right for you if you are ready for change and are willing to be challenged. If you feel "stuck" despite your best efforts, or if you have a clear vision but aren't sure how to reach it, coaching provides the structure and accountability to move you forward. The best way to find out whether coaching is right for you is to book a free discovery call!
What is your typical availability for coaching?
To ensure every client receives my full creative energy and personalized strategy, I intentionally maintain a highly selective client load. Because I work with driven professionals, my calendar is designed to fit your life by offering exclusive sessions during evenings and weekends. Spaces are limited; reach out today to secure your spot or join my priority waiting list.
How do I get started?
The first step is a free discovery call. This is a low-pressure way for us to meet, discuss your goals, and see if our chemistry and my coaching style are the right fit for your needs.
